Abstract

It functions as a means of maintaining cultural heritage, preserving unique worldviews, and passing down collective memories.

As an ethnic value, language is often seen as a symbol of pride and resilience, especially in the face of external threats such as assimilation or globalization. Many ethnic groups work actively to protect and revitalize their languages through education and cultural programs. Language can also be a political tool, used by groups to assert autonomy and resist cultural erasure. Thus, language is not only a means of communication but also a critical element in the expression and preservation of ethnic identity.
