Unemployment and poverty in Ukraine: current problems and solutions

Abstract

Питання підвищення рівня добробуту населення дедалі набуває більш принципового значення. У статті проаналізовано динаміку рівня безробіття в Україні за період 2010-2020 рр., а також виявлено структуру безробітного населення за причинами незайнятості в 2020 році. Визначено причини та особливості безробіття в Україні, а також наголошено на його негативних та позитивних наслідках. Деталізовано особливості природної норми безробіття та складності його розрахунку. Охарактеризовано взаємозв’язок між безробіттям і бідністю населення. Проаналізовано динаміку показників прожиткового мінімуму в Україні за 2010-2020 рр. і здійснено порівняння їх з міжнародним стандартом. Визначено можливості зниження рівня означених явищ та їх впливу.

The issue of improving the welfare of the population is becoming increasingly important. The article analyzes the dynamics of the unemployment rate in Ukraine for the period 2010-2020, and also identifies the structure of the unemployed population due to unemployment in 2020. The causes and features of unemployment in Ukraine are identified, as well as its negative and positive consequences are emphasized. The peculiarities of the natural rate of unemployment and the complexity of its calculation are detailed. The relationship between unemployment and poverty is described. The dynamics of the subsistence level in Ukraine for 2010-2020 is analyzed and compared with the international standard. Possibilities of reduction of the level of the specified phenomena and their influence are defined.
