У 2020 та 2021 р. проводилися археологічні дослідження у північній та центральній частинах Приморського бульвару в Одесі. Навпроти будинків № 5-7 зафіксовано залишки валів російської земляної фортеці 1793 р., в яких у перевідкладеному стані виявлено керамічні та нумізматичні матеріали XIV ст. У північній частині напівкруглої площі розчищено фрагмент недокопаного рову, заповнений побутовим сміттям 1790-х – 1810-х рр., яким нівелювали місцевість перед створенням бульвару. Імовірно, це рів недобудованої османської земляної фортеці, відображеної на плані Ісленьєва 1766 р. Виявлено біля 60 курильних османських трубок та вкладиші від рушничних ударно-кремнієвих замків. Зафіксовано шари будівельного сміття кінця XVIII ст., що перекривають давню денну поверхню степового чорнозему. Ці шари залишилися після демонтажних робіт, що проходили на якійсь кам'яній споруді, що знаходилася поблизу нинішнього пам'ятника Рішельє.
In 2020 and 2021 archaeological research was released in the northern and central parts of Primorsky Boulevard in Odessa. Opposite houses № 5-7, the remains of the ramparts of a Russian earthen fortress from 1793 were found and also ceramic and numismatic materials from the 14th century. In the northern part of the semi-circular square, a fragment of an unfinished ditch was cleared, filled with household garbage from the 1790s - 1810s, which was used to level the area before the creation of the boulevard. Presumably, this is a ditch from an unfinished Ottoman earthen fortress, indicated on the Isleniev plan of 1766th. About 60 Ottoman smoking pipes and 6 liners from rifle percussion-flint locks were found. Layers of construction debris from the late 18th century were fixed, covering the ancient surface of the steppe black soil. These layers remained after the dismantling work that took place on some stone structure located near the current Richelieu monument.
